Hugo

Hugo is a static site generator and content management system, created using Golang.

We built this very site using Hugo!

Hugo fits neatly into the JAMstack ecosystem, the world where database is a dirty word. Being a flat-file CMS, content is organised by folders and files rather than tables and rows in a database.

The benefits of using a flat-file CMS are simplicity, fewer moving parts, lower maintenance and high access speed. These benefits start to fade for sites with large amounts of data, or complex data structures.
