PostgreSQL is a mature, powerful, robust, open-source database.

Owing to it’s stability, performance, community, pedigree, and features, it’s a tool we’re incredibly fond of.

Postgres came to life in 1986 via a research project at Berkeley, California. During the 30 years of active development since its inception, the database has evolved into the most advanced and powerful relational database system freely available.

Some the excellent reasons to use Postgres include: support for disparate types including Geometric data and JSON, solid referential integrity, and versatile indexing options.
